BEIRUT (Reuters) – Syrian state TV said on Friday a deal had nearly been reached for rebels in the eastern Ghouta town of Douma near Damascus to leave to the northwestern region of Idlib, citing preliminary information.

The Russian military earlier said an agreement had been reached for the rebels to leave Douma, Interfax news agency reported.

The rebel group that controls Douma, Jaish al-Islam, could not immediately be reached for comment.
